Saxon Wood is a small special school for 44 pupils aged 2-11 with moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex medical needs.
We embrace the differing needs and individual personalities of all of our pupils and try to ensure that this is reflected in the diverse curriculum we offer. Our young people are the most important asset to our school and to support them we benefit from a dedicated staff who strive to ensure that our pupils reach their full potential.
We are lucky that within our building we have a range of specialist rooms to enhance the learning opportunities of our pupils, including a sensory room, and interactive 'magic carpet' room, a therapy room and a separate hall for PE. We have worked hard to develop our outdoor learning opportunities for our pupils, and like to embrace the outdoors to further expand the children's learning experiences.

We welcome teachers from a variety of backgrounds, including teachers transferring from mainstream schools who may or may not have SEND experience.
Every teacher is allocated an SEN allowance in addition to their salary.

We are seeking to appoint a class-based Assistant Headteacher to join our dedicated and aspirational leadership team.
Saxon Wood School is a small school for 44 children aged 2-11 for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex medical needs.

Working with the headteacher, you will actively contribute to the Leadership and Management of the school, providing a curriculum that supports learning in a safe and inclusive environment, promoting respect, honesty, communication, and teamwork.

The successful candidate will:

- Have an ability to lead and manage staff
