The Wellbeing Award

Saxon Wood School has achieved the Wellbeing Award! A big THANK YOU to everyone involved in helping the school achieve this award!

On Friday 3rd November we had our verification visit for the Wellbeing award. This is something that as a school we have been working towards for the past year, putting many new initiatives in place and ensuring that as a school we support and make relevant changes that support the emotional well-being and mental health of the whole school community.

We are pleased to announce that we successfully completed the award. Mark Jennett, our verifier, was incredibly impressed with everything he saw that day and all of the people he spoke with, including staff, parents and children.

The purpose of the Wellbeing Award is to work with the entire school community to improve support around emotional wellbeing and mental health. We aim to create a positive culture where emotional well-being and mental health is the responsibility of everyone with a supportive network in place and regular training for staff that allows them to not only support the pupils in their care but their families and colleagues as well.

We have put together a page on the website dedicated to Wellbeing where anyone can find signposting to a range of services and support if and when it is needed.

A big thank you to everyone who was involved in helping us as a school to achieve this award!
